Lancashire is a long, thin county for a locksmith. The east is the M65 corridor, with Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson and Colne strung along it and Darwen just off it on the A666. Behind that sit the Rossendale valley towns of Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Bacup and Whitworth, where the roads are steep, the parking is on the street and a car with a dead key can block a terrace for everybody. Preston is the county's rail hub on the West Coast Main Line, with Lancaster the next stop north, and both stations have long-stay car parks where people come back after a few days away to a car that will not unlock.
