How it works
Losing your only key is stressful, and the dealer route usually means a recovery truck, a wait for a key to be ordered and a bill at the end of it. We do the whole job at the roadside or on your driveway: gain entry if the car is locked, cut a new key to the lock, programme it to the immobiliser and, where the vehicle allows it, delete the lost key so it can no longer start the car.
How an all-keys-lost job works
- 1You call or message with the registration and where the car is. We confirm we can do the vehicle and agree the price.
- 2We come to the car. If it is locked, we open it without damaging the door or the lock.
- 3We read the lock or the car's security data and cut a new key blade to match.
- 4We programme the new key to the immobiliser and, on most vehicles, delete the lost key so it no longer works.
- 5We test everything before we leave: doors, ignition, remote and start.
Proof of ownership
We will only make a key for someone who can show the car is theirs. Expect to be asked for photo ID and a document linking you to the vehicle, such as the V5C, an insurance certificate or a finance agreement. This protects you as much as anyone.

Can you make a key if I have nothing at all, not even a spare?
Yes. That is what an all-keys-lost job is. We make the new key from the vehicle itself rather than copying an existing key.
Can someone use my lost key to steal the car?
On most modern vehicles we can delete the lost key from the car's memory during the same visit, so it will no longer start the engine even if someone finds it.
