How it works
If you only have one key, you are one bad day away from being stranded. A spare cut and programmed while you still have a working key is the cheapest job we do and the one we would most like everyone to book. We come to you, clone or programme the new key to the car, and check both keys work before we leave.
Why get a spare now rather than later
With a working key in hand, adding a second one is a straightforward job. Without one, the car has to be programmed from scratch, which takes longer and costs more. A spare is the difference between a quick visit and an all-keys-lost job.
It also matters when you sell. A car with two keys is easier to sell and usually worth more than the price of the spare.
What we can supply
Remote keys
Standard remote keys with buttons for locking and unlocking, cut and coded to your car.
Flip keys
Folding keys with the blade tucked into the fob. A common upgrade from an older fixed-blade key.
Smart keys
Keyless entry and push-button start fobs for newer vehicles.
Basic transponder keys
Non-remote keys with the immobiliser chip, for older vehicles and vans.
What to have ready when you call
- ✓The registration number, so we can check the key type before we set off.
- ✓Where the car is parked and whether we can get to it.
- ✓Proof that the car is yours. We will ask for photo ID and the V5C or another document linking you to the vehicle.

Do you need my existing key to make a spare?
It helps. With a working key we can usually add a second one quickly. If you have no key at all, see our lost car keys page instead.
Will the spare look the same as the original?
Usually yes. We supply keys that match the original style wherever possible, and we can also upgrade an older key to a flip or remote key if you would prefer.
